The Video Gaming Industry Offers Many More Options For Gamers Than Consoles

When you are a gamer, it can feel as though you only have three main choices: Nintendo, Sony Playstation, or Microsoft Xbox. But the world of the video gaming industry is so much bigger than consoles.

In other words, you can opt to play games on the PS4, Xbox One X, or the Nintendo Switch. If you’re lucky, then you can afford to buy all the consoles and gain access to every exclusive from Pokemon Sword to Halo and The Last of Us Part 2. But, even if you do manage to collect all the consoles that come out, you’ll still be missing out on a massive part of the gaming world. Here are some of the possibilities that you should definitely consider.

VR Gaming

It’s not dead, it’s very much alive and it’s growing every day. In fact, some experts believe that VR is still the future of gaming. If you want the best option on the market right now, then it’s still going to be the Oculus Rift. Did you know that there’s an Avengers game where you can play as the different members of the team and it will provide each of their perspectives? Why wait for the, admittedly shoddy looking console Avengers game when you can get the real experience?

VR gaming could definitely grow over the next few years so now is the perfect time to join this bandwagon. Some people claim that VR games seem like nothing more than tech demos. Due to the size and scope, there’s a little truth to that point, but you have to remember that this tech is really just at its first stage.

Do you want to go retro? If so, then you might wish to consider exploring some of the arcade games of your youth. The popularity of games like this is quite high right now thanks to TV shows that have embraced the forgotten world of the ’80s. Indeed, arcade games have some classic titles that you have probably near forgotten but still adore. You can purchase custom arcade machines for your home with all your favorite games on them.

PC Gaming

You might also want to consider PC gaming. We know what you’re thinking. Isn’t PC gaming ridiculously expensive? Unfortunately, that is a problem but once you build your dream gaming PC, you’re going to have a lot of fun. First, you’ll be able to access mods to your favorite games. So, if you have ever wished that you could fly around like Iron Man in GTA V or even Son Goku, then this is definitely the option for you. You just need to make sure that you check out a guide that will show you how to build one.

Mobile Gaming

Finally, gamers often scoff at mobile gaming and it’s understandable why they think like this. For every complex mobile game, there’s a Candy Crush. However, there are actually a lot of cool games available for mobile that could be worth your time. We bet you didn’t know that Pokemon Go isn’t the only AR game in town, but there are actually a variety of other titles to explore.

So, the video gaming industry features many more options for players than just the big three consoles.
