Nintendo Spring Sale Highlights – What Should You Buy?

Nintendo is notoriously limited in the sales it holds throughout the year. Whereas Steam, UPlay, the Epic Games Store, and Humble Bundle seemingly hand out deals, Nintendo does not. So, when a big sale comes around, you better take notice! Here are some Nintendo spring sale highlights to think about picking up.

Nintendo Spring Sale Highlights

There are a ton of publishers contributing to some must-see Nintendo spring sale highlights. There are a lot of games I would recommend for full price on this list, so here are a few games to consider, as well as major publisher deals.

Activision Spring Sale Highlights

Okay, so remember when we all wanted Crash Bandicoot and Spyro to get remastered? Well, they did, and they even came to the Switch! Right now from today through April 19, you can pickup three amazing Activision remasters for the Switch.

First, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy packages the original 3 Crash games together for 30+ hours of action. The games look great but still feel as if you’re booting up your original Playstation. The package is usually $40, but the sale puts the trilogy down to $19.99.

Also 50% off is the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. The original 3 Spyro games are among my favorite gaming memories as a kid, and reliving them is a blast. I purchased this bundle at full price and loved every second of replaying these titles. If you want to relive some of the greatest PlayStation platforming around, then pick this trilogy up.

Lastly, Crash had his run at the record books up against the history of Mario Kart, but it never really caught on. Still, Crash Team Racing was a wonderful attempt to move kart arcade gameplay to the PlayStation. It’s not ever going to beat Mario Kart for me, but for $23.99, you can grab the remastered version, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled for a pretty wonderful price.

I love a good LEGO game, and yeah, they’re not the most incredible experiences. They aren’t meant to wow you, but I have yet to play many I didn’t enjoy. A few of my all-time favorites are even better on the Switch because they can be played handheld. A ton of options are available, but here are a few I want to point out.

If you enjoy Harry Potter, the LEGO collection of all seven movies as games is available for $20. There are so many fun memories to relive here, and the LEGO spin on things is pretty cute. At originally a $50 price tag, the cost is a huge bargain.

Another favorite of mine is LEGO DC Super Villains. Imagine getting to play as your favorite DC evil-doers and cause a ton of destruction. Sure, things might get sort of violent and messy, but not if everything is created from those classic toy bricks. The fun sandbox-style gameplay in this title is a huge reason to love your time with it. Like any great LEGO game there are a ton of easter eggs to discover, and you can play co-op with younger gamers or a roommate during social distancing.

My Favorite Deal for the Nintendo Spring Sale

I think overall, my favorite of the Nintendo spring sale highlights is Diablo 3: Eternal Collection. The base game from Blizzard is truly remarkable, and takes you back to some amazing memories of PC dungeon crawling. Here’s what you get in the single purchase: the Diablo III game, the Reaper of Souls expansion, and the Rise of the Necromancer pack. All in all, that’s 7 classes to experience, 5 acts of gameplay, and seasons’ worth of demon-smashing. You can even take advantage of some really cool motion controls with the Joy-Con when you play on Switch.

Lastly, keep an eye out for Zelda items. Some fun easter egg items include a Cucco companion pet, a Triforce portrait frame, and an exclusive transmogrification set that will let your heroes sport Ganondorf’s iconic armor. For any fan of top-down D&D style video games or Zelda, this is a must-buy.
