Toss a coin to your local bookstore, because something Witcher this way comes. The story, which you either love, hate, or think should include like, way more nudity, is returning to its printed roots. Dark Horse Comics has announced a new Witcher comic miniseries is on its way. Here’s what to expect from The Witcher: Fading Memories.

Witcher Things Are Tough All Over

The new series finds the titular Witcher–try saying that 3 times fast–Geralt of Rivia in a bit of a pickle. There doesn’t seem to be any monsters about. For a fellow who makes his living hunting monsters, this is obviously a problem.

In fact, the grumpiest Witcher around somehow gets even moodier, as Dark Horse says he’s “become impoverished and dejected” without monsters to track. But hark! An opportunity appears. The Mayor of Towitz requests Geralt’s help. It seems that something called Foglets is stealing the small town’s children. Geralt, having little other choice, accepts the job, but there seems to be duplicity afoot. The source of it is unknown, but like the plot description says, “…something feels off about this new threat.” Hmm, I bet it is!

The Witcher: Fading Memories will be a 4-issue comic miniseries. Issue #1 will arrive in comic book stores and other fine retailers June 17, 2020.

Bartosz Sztybor, whose most recent work is Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Sirens, has penned the series. The author has a long list of works under his belt already, including the autobiographical (and award-winning) comic Come Back to Me Again. Amad Mir (ZARATHUSTRA Volume 1: The Lion That Carried the Flame) is the illustrator, while Evan Cagle designed the cover art (seen in the featured image).

While the series, again, isn’t in stores until June, it’s available for pre-order through your local comic retailer. In the meantime, you can sate yourself with Paul Tobin’s The Witcher Omnibus or catch up on the series, in anticipation of The Witcher Season 2 and the cast.

Or just post your Strong Opinions™ about The Witcher below. Also, feel free to tell us–and by us, I mean Comic Years–on social media.
