Loki Season 2 Will Likely Happen, Says Marvel Producer
Looks like Loki fans are going to get more of the mischievous Asgardian god! Loki Season 2 is likely going to happen according to Nate Moore, the Marvel Studios VP of Production & Development. In an interview with IndieWire, Moore said that there’s always the possibility for Marvel shows to be extended, but Loki is one of the shows that’s higher up on the list for numerous reasons.
Marvel had recently submitted The Falcon and the Winter Soldier for an Emmy in the Drama category rather than the Limited Series category, which had many speculating that there could be a second season.
When asked about other Marvel series that could get multiple seasons, Moore said:
“The one that comes to mind — and that probably isn’t a secret — I think there’s a lot of storytelling in Loki that’s really irreverent and clever and cool, but also lends itself to multiple seasons in a way where it’s not a one-off.”
As Tom Hiddleston had hinted that the Loki logo might have significant meaning having to do with his multiple personalities and the show itself deals with time-traveling, it would make sense that Loki would have several seasons to fully explore the different shenanigans that he would potentially get into among a variety of time periods.
With Thor: Love and Thunder coming out next year, we’re likely going to see more of Thor’s loveable trickster brother. Christian Bale is already on board as the antagonist, Gorr the God Butcher, and his description is already enough to convince me that Thor is going to need all the help he can get, even if it IS from his annoying brother Loki.
Loki debuts on Disney+ on June 11.
