Dave Bautista Rescues Puppy And Ends Up Adopting Her In Heartwarming Instagram Posts
Dave Bautista may play a headstrong brute in Guardians of the Galaxy, but in real life, he’s a softie at heart. He recently went on Instagram to help out a furry friend that had been badly abused, offering a cash reward for information about the abusers. Read on to learn how Dave Bautista rescues puppy!
According to Bautista’s Instagram account, he found the three-month-old puppy in Tampa Bay, Florida with some pretty serious injuries around her neck and shoulders. He said he would offer $5,000 in cash for any information on the abusers and added that the Humane Society of Tampa Bay was also offering an additional $1,500. See his Instagram post below:
Later, Bautista posted an Instagram video, saying that they still didn’t have any information on the abusers, but then he delighted fans by revealing that he had adopted the puppy. He said:
“The bad news is we don’t have any solid leads now, we are trying to catch this person responsible. ‘Cause, it’s a three-month-old puppy that was horribly abused and needed surgery and is recovering from surgery, that’s the update. The bad news is, again, we haven’t found this person responsible. The good news is, today, the puppy you know as Sage actually became Penny Bautista. She is about to live her best puppy life.”
Bautista will star in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (coming out May 2023) as well as Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder next year, but sadly, that will be the end of his time as Drax. He explained that he’s getting older and “the shirtless thing is getting harder,” in an interview on The Ellen Show. Additionally, he’s also said that Marvel missed the opportunity to really develop the character, something he feels should have happened.
