The Snyder Cut looks to show no signs of stopping. Presumably until after its release, when we may stop hearing about it. But for now, the unprecedented piece of content, almost literally willed into existence by the fans, is happening. On top of the constant reminders of the film’s release, we now finally, have a Snyder Cut release date. Not to mention additional material released for promoting the movie. New stills character images and brand new stunning poster designs all tease the upcoming Justice League the Snyder Cut on HBO Max. So here is a round-up of all the latest Snyder Cut news.

Justice League Snyder Cut Release Date Confirmed

The buzz about the release of the Snyder Cut began last year. The project that Snyder abandoned due to a personal tragedy, will see completion by the visionary director. Changing from a movie to a mini-series, (and then back to a movie again, reportedly), the Snyder Cut became the crown jewel of the HBO streaming service. With news of the release happening in early 2021 looming, we know now that the Justice League Snyder Cut release date is set for early spring on HBO Max.

Brand New Snyder Cut Posters Pay Homage To Classic Comics

When announcing the release date, Snyder also tweeted out three brand new posters for the Snyder Cut. The three gorgeous looking posters feature the tag lines of ‘Fallen’, ‘Risen’, and ‘Reborn’ on them. While it’s a brilliant bit of tagging for the posters, they also seem to imply the arc that Snyder’s original Justice League was going to follow. The fall of the characters, the rising of the late Superman, and the rebirth of the team into the Justice League we know and love. The visuals of one of the posters also mimic that of the iconic Death Of Superman storyline from the comics.

But on top of being visually amazing, the posters also seemingly tell the story of the Snyder Cut itself. How the franchise changed from Snyder’s original vision due to Warner Bros executives’ input. How then he had to leave the project due to a family tragedy, but the fan demand for his vision stayed alive. Culminating in the eventual completion and release of the movie later this year. This perspective is even clearer  by the fact that the last poster, is actually an image of the Snyder Cut film reels.

Snyder Reveals Real Reasons For Justice League Departure

It’s common knowledge that Snyder left the production of the original Justice League due to his daughter’s suicide. However, in a new, soon to be published book by a writer from Cinema Blend, Snyder discusses the other reasons surrounding that decision.

“I had no energy to fight , and fight for . Literally, zero energy for that. I really think that’s the main thing.”

The quote seems to imply that Snyder was already not seeing eye to eye with the WB studio executives over the direction of his Justice League. Even prior to the family tragedy. And that situation just seemed to crystallize his priorities, with the director choosing to put his energy towards his family, rather than the movie. Which is totally understandable. But it does seemingly confirm and bring an air of legitimacy to initial rumors that Joss Whedon came on board even prior to Snyder’s departure, to ease the transition. Given the studio’s unhappiness with Snyder’s vision.

New Looks at Cyborg and Wonder Woman Revealed

Coming up to the release of the Snyder Cut, Snyder also tweeted new images for both Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). The new image of Wonder Woman sees Diana Prince in an all-white dress, shot from below looming beside, what looks like, the spear we see Darkseid carrying in the promos.

The other image of Cyborg, sees him in full flight, with his face covered in a techno-shield. The most interesting part of this image is the quote of ‘There’s a war coming’, credited to the Martian Manhunter. It’s already confirmed that the Martian Manhunter is in the Snyder Cut, but looks like he’ll have a more prominent role than we initially thought.

The Justice League Snyder Cut release date is March 18 on HBO Max.
