My Hero Academia 4: New Movie Release Date and Key Visuals

The fourth anime film in the My Hero Academia franchise has unveiled its official website and Twitter account. In addition to showcasing a trailer, visual, title, staff, we finally know the official release date. Here’s everything we know about the My Hero Academia 4, titled You’re Next (My Hero Academia: You’re Next).

My Hero Academia 4 Movie Details 

Tensai Okamura, known for his work on Darker than Black, will be directing the film at BONES. The team behind the television series and previous films will also be returning. This includes the scriptwriter Yōsuke Kuroda, character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and composer Yuki Hayashi. 

The next My Hero Academia movie is set to hit Japanese theaters on August 2, 2024. Kōhei Horikoshi, the original manga creator, will serve as the general supervisor and original character designer for the film. 

The story will be original and take place during the same time as the current TV anime, depicting a society in turmoil. A mysterious giant fortress and a man resembling the former “Symbol of Peace” will suddenly appear in this war-torn society.

Prior to this film, the My Hero Academia franchise has released three other movies. My Hero Academia: Two Heroes premiered in Japan in July 2018, followed by My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising in December 2019. The most recent film, My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission, opened in Japan in August 2021 and later in the United States in October 2021, earning over US$10 million.

MHA Season 7 In the Works As Well

The seventh season of the My Hero Academia television anime will kick off on April 6 with a four-episode special called My Hero Academia Memories. The main season seven anime, starting from episode 139 of the overall series, will then debut on May 4.

The sixth season of the anime premiered in October 2022 and aired for a total of 25 episodes over two continuous cours. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, offering both subbed and dubbed versions. Toonami is also broadcasting the anime. Additionally, an anime special episode titled My Hero Academia UA Heroes Battle debuted in October.
