The Kitchen is a Well-Baked Crime Drama

The current Rotten Tomato score for The Kitchen (Based on a Vertigo comic), the crime drama featuring Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss, is a painful 20%. But here’s the problem, there are quite a few reviews with comments like this: The Kitchen is a female empowerment movie disguised as a mob movie. With […]

House of X #2: Hickman Explores the Many (SPOILER) of (SPOILER)

So, there’s no way to review Hickman and Larraz’s House of X #2 without spoiling it. It’s a brilliant comic that works as a one-shot and that builds on what happened in House of X and Powers of X so far. But from page one, it dramatically changes one of the most important characters in […]

The Lion King Remake Takes “Remake” To Its Most Literal Meaning

I’m not against the live-action remakes of classic Disney films. Aladdin, back in May, actually surprised me by how good it was. Dumbo was adorable. Beauty and the Beast had enough of a spin on the story, showing us new sides to characters we already loved. Jungle Book was exceptionally new. The upcoming Mulan looks […]

Avengers: Endgame Deleted Scene is the Most Beautiful in the MCU

Sometimes they lead to extended editions, like The Lord of the Rings, where most of the re-added scenes feel so natural, that the theatrical versions just feel wrong now. A good […]
